JB. Holbert spent his childhood in a suburb of St. Louis. At 15 he moved to North Dakota with his recently divorced mother who was returning to her roots. He finished high school and as much college as he could sit through in North Dakota. He then moved to Minnesota and the lakes he had loved since childhood.
For forty years he was in the decorated apparel business which gave him amazing behind the scenes access to America’s National Parks, the sidelines of NFL games, and even the White House. The import side of that business took him around the world.
Starting as an extra in Prince’s 1984 Purple Rain, the apparel business afforded him time to dabble in screenwriting and the film industry. In North Dakota he joined Canticle Productions and became a producer on two current films, Hazel and Medora, Empress of the Badlands.
